So I received an email from inPRNT today, saying that I now have two of my works available for purchase — yay! Check those out:

Buy print - VIIIBuy print - Vital Consciousness

“VIII” and “Vital Consciousness” are printed with Epson UltraChrome inks, the sizes are pretty fascinating: 13x19, 18x24 and extra large for all detail freaks out there — 24x36 (inches, of course).

Thanks go to Joshua for making those prints possible!

UPDATE: Prints via inPRNT canceled as of January 2010.

My new personal drawing — “Vital Consciousness”

can be seen @ Behance, flickr & deviantArt

Here’s some background information on the whole thing. Drawn on A4-sized craft paper sheet, using 0.20 & 0.25 mm Sakura Micron ink pens and two white Crown gel pens. Took me about three weeks to finish it — go figure how intricate it actually is… And no, I didn’t know how it’s gonna end up looking — I still kick it freestyle most of the times, although this time it was more or less symmetrical.

I don’t really feel like sharing my understanding of the elements, but obviously it’s not randomly entitled “vital consciousness” . For those, who’s curious about the digits — I got them from my dreams! :)
However, feel free to reach me — I’m really interested in hearing how you interpret the drawing… if you have nothing better to do!

I’m on the look out for a decent print service, as I think it’d look pretty good as a poster. Suggestions (and maybe offers?) are welcome!

Last but not least, this original piece is up for sale. Contact me if you’re interested (please do include your price).

PS. My site will be updated soon with new look and engine (PHP consultancy would be appreciated), it’ll be more intuitive & slick. This means I’ll keep posting new stuff here, in my blog, and places like Behance and Flickr.

Crem de la CremThis is the first design I’ve crafted for Crem De La Crem brand. I’m willing to throw a series of designs for our collaboration ’cause I really like how they do their thing :) Stay tuned!

Luca «Bean One» Barcellona

New article @ iLoveTypography brought my attention to this insanely gifted brother from Milan, Italy, who goes under moniker «Bean One». From what I see in his flickr gallery, he’s totally obsessed with letters and calligraphy and I must admit I haven’t seen an artist putting so much passion into every line before. I can barely find words to describe how awesome his stuff is…

Just take a look at those — pictures can say more:

There are some live performances available at Vimeo. Worth watching! He’s also on MySpace ;)

«Browne» script: in-progress shots

I’ve finished working on one of my current projects recently — a tattoo script for my man Dan Browne, with whose courtesy I’m showing some of the earlier sketches and inking stages photos/scans. Check the final version in my gallery.

First sketch session:

I thought it was pretty interesting to show how the idea appeared and how it headed further, making it into something beautiful. Questions, comments? Welcome!

On a side note, due to the whole crisis fuss & not so stable income from freelance projects, I’m currently looking for a day job in my town, and the sad fact is some projects are delayed. I will try my best to quickly get back to everyone who wanted to work with me once I’m done with the routine :)

Body art

The first story of my body art experience goes back to 2007; prior to graduating from the university we were living & studying in the “second capital” of Russia — Saint Petersburg , where we rented a flat. So one day I decided to try new medium — skin of a friend of mine :)
