I’ve scanned most interesting  pages so everyone can check out how cool and fun hand-drawn letters can be!

Those 7 pages are only about 15% of all the experiments that I did within last two weeks since I updated my set. Back in October 2009 I was commissioned by Nike for a series of t-shirt designs for Nike Football line. I was asked to come  up with three hand-drawn illustrations based on soccer teams’ own visual elements and my lettering/custom decorative type. The teams were Manchester United, Juventus & Corinthians Paulista.

I was waiting to post those up for a long time and finally — today is the day! Read full post for the designs and some sketches.

Working with Nike was a really useful experience. I never sketched so many variants of different ideas/concepts before —  I had hundreds of paper sheets filled with all sorts of drawings lying literally all around my room for like 3 or 4 weeks.

I scanned pre-ink sketches of the first two designs and some of the most interesting concepts for ya’ll sketch & type lovers out there! Check it:
